Terms of Service

    Last updated: September 16, 2026

    1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AppToPub ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

    2. Description of Service

AppToPub is a tool that converts Poe Canvas HTML applications into standalone, publicly accessible web applications. The Service requires users to provide their own Poe API key to enable functionality in converted applications.

    3. API Key Storage and Security

By using this Service, you acknowledge and agree to the following regarding API key handling:

    • Your Poe API key will be stored on our servers in encrypted format (AES-256 encryption)
    • API keys are automatically deleted when your deployment expires (72 hours after creation)
    • While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is 100% secure
    • You are solely responsible for any API usage and associated costs incurred through your key
    • You should revoke your API key immediately at poe.com/api/keys if you suspect any unauthorized access
    • We recommend using a dedicated API key for this service that can be easily revoked

    4. User Responsibilities

    You agree to:

    • Provide accurate information and a valid Poe API key
    • Comply with Poe's Terms of Service and API usage policies
    • Not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
    • Not upload malicious code, malware, or content that violates third-party rights
    • Not attempt to circumvent security measures or abuse the Service
    • Monitor your Poe API usage and associated costs
    • Maintain the confidentiality of your API keys and credentials

    5. Custom URL Names and Naming Policy

Custom URLs are a privilege, not a right. By using our custom URL feature, you agree to the following:

    5.1 Naming Requirements

    • URLs must be between 4-30 characters
    • URLs must contain only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens
    • URLs must start with a letter
    • URLs must not impersonate, mislead, or cause confusion with other brands, entities, or individuals

    5.2 Prohibited Names

You may not choose a custom URL that:

    • Infringes on any trademark, copyright, or intellectual property rights
    • Contains profanity, hate speech, or offensive content
    • Impersonates AppToPub, its staff, or any official entity
    • Contains illegal content or promotes illegal activities
    • Is misleading, deceptive, or intended to cause confusion
    • Violates any applicable laws or regulations
    • Contains names of major technology companies or brands without authorization

    5.3 Our Rights

AppToPub reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to:

    • Reject any custom URL request without providing a reason
    • Modify, reassign, or revoke any custom URL at any time without prior notice
    • Reclaim any URL that becomes needed for system operations
    • Suspend or terminate accounts that violate naming policies
    • Update the list of reserved or prohibited URLs at any time

    5.4 No Ownership

Custom URLs are licensed, not owned. You do not acquire any ownership rights to any custom URL. We may modify, revoke, or reassign your custom URL at any time for any reason, including but not limited to violations of these Terms, trademark disputes, or operational needs.

    5.5 Liability

You are solely responsible for ensuring your custom URL does not infringe on any third-party rights. You agree to indemnify AppToPub against any claims arising from your choice of custom URL.

    6. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the content you upload to the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process and transform your content solely for the purpose of providing the conversion service. We do not claim ownership of your applications or content.

    7. Communications and Email Consent

By creating an account, you consent to receive electronic communications from us, including:

    • Service notifications: Deployment status updates, expiration reminders, and important service announcements
    • Marketing communications: New features, tips, and promotional content (you can opt out anytime)

You can manage your marketing email preferences in your profile settings. Service notifications cannot be disabled while your account is active, as they contain important information about your deployments.

    8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT
    • WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE
    • WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY CONTENT
    • WARRANTIES THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED OR THAT THE SERVICE IS FREE OF VIRUSES

    9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL APPTOPUB, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
    • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data
    • Any charges incurred on your Poe account or API usage
    • The cost of procurement of substitute goods or services
    • Any matter beyond our reasonable control

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

    10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AppToPub and its operators, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

    11. Third-Party Services

This Service integrates with Poe (operated by Quora, Inc.). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Poe or Quora. Your use of Poe's API is subject to Poe's own Terms of Service and policies. We are not responsible for Poe's services, availability, or any changes to their API.

    12. Deployment Expiration

Converted applications are temporary and will be automatically deleted after 72 hours. We are not responsible for any data loss or unavailability after deployment expiration. Users should not rely on this Service for permanent hosting or critical applications.

    13. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately, and we may delete your deployed applications and stored API keys.

    14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

    15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
